J Road Natural
Gas Project

Overview

We will replace, relocate and install new natural gas lines, and replace natural gas service lines serving individual properties, throughout 2024 for the J Road Natural Gas Project.

The project includes replacing approximately six miles of natural gas line along J Road, between J 3/10 Road and 21 Road, on 19 1/2 Road, between K Road and Highway 50, and on 20 Road, between J Road and I 3/10 Road, and replacing natural gas service lines serving adjacent properties.

This work allows us to continue to provide safe, reliable natural gas service, and enhances system resiliency during extreme weather.

Construction updates

We will work in yards and other areas of customer properties to replace the natural gas service line serving the property. We will contact customers to arrange a date and time to complete this work.

If you have questions about natural gas service line replacement or would like to meet with our team about how work will affect your property, please contact us at 303-312-8888 or  [email protected].

How it affects you

We will install natural gas line by open trenching and boring. Open trenching involves digging a trench and placing the natural gas line in the trench. Boring uses a specialized machine to create an underground pathway through which the natural gas line is pulled or drilled.

We restore work areas to preconstruction conditions as weather allows. Work areas may be left temporarily restored after construction until we can complete final restoration.

During work, you may notice:

  • Marking of utility lines and utility survey holes.
  • Road closures.
  • Traffic control.
  • Temporary changes to access.
  • Construction noise.

We are committed to maintaining a safe working environment in your community. For your safety and the safety of our crews, remember these tips:

  • Watch for construction crews and equipment.
  • Do not enter construction areas.
  • Obey signage and directions from crews.
  • Reduce speeds while traveling.
  • Observe parking restrictions.
  • Remain flexible as work progresses and work areas change.

Schedule

Construction began in October 2023 and is expected to continue through late fall 2024.

Schedules are subject to change.
