Overview
We are replacing the natural gas equipment west of the intersection of 25th Drive and Chambers Road and associated natural gas line connecting the natural gas equipment to the natural gas system for the 25th Drive and Chambers Road Natural Gas Project in Aurora, Colorado.
This work allows us to continue to provide safe, reliable natural gas service and enhances system resiliency during extreme weather.

Construction updates
Thursday, July 3, 2025
Construction is anticipated to start as early as the week of July 14. Schedules are subject to change.
During the week of July 14, crews anticipate working in the following areas:
- Chambers Road, between 35th Place and Smith Road
- Southbound Chambers Road will narrow from three lanes to one lane.
- Local access allowed.
- Chambers Road, between Smith Road and 25th Drive
- Full closure of southbound Chambers Road to through traffic for up to four weeks; local traffic allowed.
- Southbound Chambers Road through traffic follow posted detour of eastbound Smith Road to southbound Airport Boulevard to westbound Colfax Avenue.
- Access to 25th Drive from southbound Chambers Road will be maintained during construction.
- Northbound Chambers Road open to through traffic.
- Pedestrians cross to sidewalk on east side of Chambers Road.
- West of the intersection of 25th Drive and Chambers Road
- Natural gas equipment replacement.
- Natural gas line installation.
- Equipment and materials storage.
- Closure of sidewalk on west side of Chambers Road.
- Closure of Sand Creek Regional Greenway access trail on west side of Chambers Road.
- Chambers Road, between 25th Drive and 23rd Avenue
- Full closure of southbound Chambers Road for up to four weeks.
- Natural gas line installation.
- Closure of sidewalk on west side of Chambers Road.
Crews will work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In certain circumstances, crews may work evenings, nights or weekends.
Please follow posted detours and instructions from traffic flaggers. Schedules are subject to change.
How it affects you
During construction, you may notice:
- Marking of utility lines and utility survey holes.
- Road and sidewalk closures.
- Traffic control.
- Temporary changes to access.
- Construction noise.
Installation will utilize open trenching which involves digging a trench and placing the natural gas line in the trench.
We are committed to maintaining a safe working environment in your community. For your safety and the safety of our crews, remember these tips:
- Watch for construction crews and equipment.
- Do not enter construction areas.
- Obey signage and directions from crews.
- Reduce speeds while traveling.
- Observe parking restrictions.
- Remain flexible as work progresses and work areas change.
We’ll restore work areas to preconstruction conditions as weather allows. Work areas may be left temporarily restored after construction until we can complete final restoration.
Schedule
Construction is expected to start in July 2025 and continue through fall 2025.
Construction will occur Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In certain circumstances, we may be required to work evenings or weekends.
